A Guide To Holidays On A Budget
Whether you're after a city break in Paris, beach holiday in Spain or simply an overnight spa break in the UK, we've got some of the best deals on holidays under £100 per person.
What we've discovered is that getting away doesn't have to break the budget. And if you're flexible with dates, destinations and accommodation options, cheap holidays can be just that, low cost. Whether you're looking at a family escape in the UK, or a self catering holiday abroad, you're going to be surprised.
So it's time to decide, what sort of getaway are you really after? Do you just need a quick over night spa break to relax and rejuvenate, or do you really let go of stress when you're exploring a new city? Perhaps you just want to be relaxing by the pool, soaking up the sunshine? Or maybe you're one of these people who just loves to enjoy their nightlife with short breaks in a party destination.
If your budget for a holiday is less than £50 you'll most likely need to stay in the UK, be flexible and stay midweek and outside of school holidays.
However you choose to spend your escape, the more you can save on flights, accommodation and attraction tickets, the more often you can get away right? For the best deals, you might need to be flexible on date and destination, but the money you could be saving, especially as a family of 4, 5 or 6, could be worth a lot.
Destinations Under £100
For a beach holiday under £100, try holiday destinations like the Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, Algarve or Majorca, which can offer great value for families. If it's a cheap city break you're after, check out Ryanair destinations like Milan, Berlin and Geneva for some of the cheapest flights in Europe and plan you city break around that.
Don't fancy going abroad? Why not enjoy one of the hundreds of holidays in the UK for less than £100pp? A spa break at a country retreat perhaps? Or maybe you would rather some quality family time at one of the UK's many holiday parks? Places like Cornwall and Devon are incredibly popular, so why not try somewhere new like a camping holiday in Wales, or a self catering apartment in Yorkshire.
Norfolk

When To Go
To keep the cost of your trip down, you might have to get a little creative with when and where you travel. Here are a few of our tips:
If you can travel midweek, you'll also be able to take advantage of flight times and days that aren't in as much demand, meaning cheaper flight prices. This can also be the case for train travel (although try and avoid peak commuter times). You may also find that accommodation can be cheaper during the week too.
Booking outside of school holidays can also help to bring down the cost of your holiday to less than £100 per person, as holiday companies will increase prices during these peak, busy times due to increase in demand.
Booking at the last minute, can be a bit hit or miss with offers, especially if flights come into the equation. You should keep an eye on big brands to see what's what. Booking early can often save you money, especially if you can get your hands on a discount code, but a last minute break could also be a great option if you're flexible and looking for discounts. Just don't pin your hopes on snapping up a bargain if you hope to travel in a few days time.
What Sort Of Holiday Can You Get For £99 Or Less
Good question, easy answer. You might be surprised at what you can do and the holidays you can take for under £100 per person, whether a full holiday, or a quick break with attractions likeLegoland or Alton Towers.
Beach holidays outside of school holidays in destinations like Majorca, Benidorm, Salou and Algarve are definitely possible. Most hotels will offer self-catering or room only options for less than £100 but there may also be the odd holiday which includes breakfast. Brands like Jet2holidays and TUI include things like airport transfers, which can be an additional cost with some other travel companies.
On an all-inclusive holiday , you should expect tea, coffee, all soft drinks and locally produced alcoholic drinks to be free of charge. Check the small print just in case as the complimentary beverages on offer can vary from hotel to hotel. You should also expect to pay for premium brand alcoholic drinks.
To help keep you and the rest of the family entertained, all-inclusive deals will also include various activities, such as mini golf, tennis, pedalo hire if on a beach and various pool activities, like waterpolo or inflatable fun. Kids clubs may also be available to keep the young ones busy so check with the hotel as to what is on offer. Evening entertainment will generally also be available at the hotel, varying from cabaret acts, karaoke, magic shows, quizzes and other activities.
Similarly for city breaks under £100, getting breakfast included is always a bonus and helps keep your costs down while on holiday. Spas also have some great deals out, like with Treatwell or SpaBreaks.com who sometimes have half price spa breaks, ideal if you just want to holiday at home.
Caravan holidays are also a brilliant way to getaway with the family. With prices often starting from just £49, either directly with the holiday park, or with an offer like the Sun holiday codes.
In many cases, a whole week could be pushing it. Perhaps a camping holiday might suit? Otherwise even just a night or two can be the perfect amount of time to step away from the daily grind, unwind and spend some quality time together with your loved ones.
