Royal Caribbean International

With hundreds of cruises around the Caribbean, Royal Caribbean are undoubtedly one of the most popular cruise lines offering itineraries around the islands. Depending on the itinerary, most cruises depart from ports in Florida like Tampa, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral (Orlando). They even visit a private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Although free child place cruises aren't often available, Royal Caribbean sometimes have a discount child offer.

Whether you want just a couple of days on the ship, or you fancy two weeks exploring the east or west Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises has plenty of options. There are so many incredible Caribbean islands to discover that it can be hard to choose what sort of itinerary to enjoy. So from the British Virgin Islands and St Kitts to Mexico and Honduras, here are a couple of our favourite ports of call.

Jamaica

A classic Caribbean island, Jamaica offers visitors the quintessential Caribbean experience, made up of outstanding Caribbean food, amazing beaches, and plenty of sightseeing excursions to enjoy. Ports include Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.

Bahamas

With itineraries that include the Bahamas, most will stop in Nassau, the capital city. Here you can take a variety of excursions and day trips, or simply head out and enjoy the various beaches around New Providence Island.

Philipsburg, St Maarten

Famous for its iconic beach at the end of the runway, St Maarten has both amazing beaches and a rich history and culture that's waiting to be explored.

Cozumel, Mexico

When you think of the Mexico Caribbean coast, you'll undoubtedly think of Cancun, but there are so many other areas along this coast to explore. Cozumel island is located off Playa del Carmen and offers a much more authentic Mexican experience than Cancun.

Perfect Day at CocoCay and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve are two private islands in the Bahamas which offer a unique experience to visitors. Both offer a wealth of activities including an exciting water park at Perfect Day, as well as parties and BBQs.

With every port of call there's at least a dozen interesting and exciting day trips and shore excursions to discover. From organised coach tours allowing you to learn more about the history and culture of the islands, to adventurous activities like mountain biking, sea kayaking and much more.

Private Islands

The Bahamas are home to hundreds of stunning islands, and two of the private islands have been transformed into an ideal stop. Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve which is visited by MSC, and Perfect Day at CocoCay which is visited by the Royal Caribbean and Carnival brands. Both offer beautiful beaches, great food, lots of activities and there's even a water park on Perfect Day at CocoCay, making it an excellent port of call for couples and families.

New York - Departure Ports

You have two options for a cruise in the Caribbean, you can either embark in the UK and sail across the Atlantic Ocean, or you can book a fly-cruise and fly to your destination, allowing you to get there sooner.

UK

Caribbean cruises from Southampton are usually take around 14 to 21 days, allowing for the Atlantic crossing. Brands like Cunard, P&O Cruises, Fred Olsen and Celebrity Cruises all have options from the UK, so you have you pick of options depending on what sort of cruise you're after. There are also repositioning cruises which start in one port and end in another. This is often the case for the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, as the cruise ships move between summer and winter seasons.

USA

For the most options, take a look at departures from the USA. The ports of Miami, Port Canaveral (Orlando) and Fort Lauderdale offer the most options, with other ports like New York (New Jersey), Tampa and New Orleans also featuring itineraries. Virgin Voyages are one of the many cruise lines which depart from the Port of Miami.

Barbados

Why not fly straight to the heart of the action? Barbados is one of the most popular ports for a fly-cruise. Bridgetown is often the embarkation port for Marella and P&O Cruises in the Caribbean Sea.
