How To Book A Beach Break Under £100pp
In order to take advantage of a beach break that is under £100 per person, you'll need to be flexible. Both in terms of destination and when you travel.
Travelling outside of the peak season (i.e. not during school holidays), you will be sure to pick up a bargain. At the same time, certain destinations like those that have frequent flights with a number of airlines, such as Faro in the Algarve, Barcelona or Majorca. This can mean cheaper flights for you as the various airlines try and get your business, instead of flying with one of their competitors. Destinations such as Morocco, the Algarve, the Costa Brava and Majorca, often have beach holidays under £100 per person. More often than not, these are on a room only or self-catering board basis, however there are still many deals with breakfast included as part of the price under £100.
If you are travelling in a group or with infants or children, you can also expect to pay less. A one bedroom apartment in Majorca, for example may have space to sleep four adults instead of just 2, in which case, the cost is spread out across four people instead of just two. Groups of people also work well when it comes to villa holidays. You'll find that most villas are further inland than by the beach, however, when sharing the cost of a large villa, this can also help reduce the overall cost per person.
Other factors that may help get you a £100 beach holiday are things like flying from quieter airports where there isn't such demand and fares may be lower to attract more business. London Southend Airport is a great example of this. You may find cheaper fares from Southend than from the likes of Gatwick or Luton. You can also check for both beach holidays months in advance or at the last minute. Airlines don't normally have a policy of discounting fares at the last minute unless they REALLY need to get the planes filled so make sure you look at various times of the year.
Of course, the other key thing to do is always keep an eye out for deals. Whether you've just come back from a holiday and need another, or haven't any plans yet, always look at what's available. You never know when a nice 4-star beach getaway under £100 might appear.
City And Beach Holidays Under £100
If you want to combine the vibrant European city life with a relaxing beach break all for under £100 per person, there are some great options to choose from.
Barcelona is the perfect example of a city and beach holiday. With plenty of exciting nightlife, wonderful Spanish cuisine and the beautiful beaches of this historic yet contemporary city, you can be browsing a museum in the morning and enjoying the Barceloneta Beach in the afternoon, before sipping on Sangria in the evening. If you're short on time, Barcelona also makes a great weekend break.
The city of Palma in Majorca is another great beach and city holiday destination and ideal for a cheap weekend break in the sun. A popular choice for Brits, Palma has some beautiful sightseeing, mixed with beautiful sandy beaches. If you get the chance, explore the island further by car or moped and head east to explore some of the more quieter towns and villages on the island.
Family Holidays Under £100
When you've got a whole family holiday to pay for, the cost of your holiday will always be in the back of your mind. Some hotels or holiday companies may let kids go free or their food free at the hotel, however, when you're on a budget like £100 per person, you'll most likely need to book a room only or self catering holiday. £100 is unlikely to get you much more.
However, where you can save is on family rooms, with additional sofa or pull-out beds that can accommodation the kids, meaning you don't need to spend more on a second room. You'll be able to share just one room. You should always check this with the hotel when you book.
Why not enjoy family time in the UK with a caravan holiday? There are a number of fantastic holiday parks to choose from, many with great, family-friendly facilities like indoor pools and flumes, crazy golf, adventure courses and kids clubs. It also means you get to avoid airports, potential flight delays and foreign exchange rates.
Off Peak Holidays
We all know that during July and August, holiday companies hike up prices due to demand, and with it means you're unlikely to be able to get too far on a budget of just £100 per person, so it's often better to go off peak, e.g. during school term time for a better chance of a cheap holiday, and dare we say it, an all-inclusive holiday under £100 per person...
Getting a bargain break in summer is tough and you will most likely need to stay within the UK to enjoy a holiday, but we have some stunning beaches in the UK, so if you've not explored, maybe it's time to start seeing more of our very own Great Britain.
Keep an eye out for cheap last minute holidays for less than £100, often with holidays under £50 available too. Sometimes in these "need" periods, hotels and holiday parks will offer last minute discounts to fill rooms that would otherwise go empty.
