Our Guide To Attraction Holidays & Tickets In 2024/2025
Whether you're after a fun-filled day out with the family, or a short break at your favourite theme park, there are so many exciting attractions in the UK and abroad just waiting to be discovered. Perhaps you love a city break in London visiting all the best museums, or maybe you're an absolute Disneyland® Paris fanatic? Or are you a total thrillseeker hunting down the latest rides at Alton Towers or Chessington World of Adventures? However you enjoy spending your day, here's our guide to attraction tickets and breaks for 2024 & 2025.
Popular Attractions Not To Be Missed
Attractions In The UK
There are plenty of attractions in the UK to discover and enjoy, from thrilling theme parks, to educational castles and the various activities on offer in the cities.
Theme Parks
Theme park breaks are a great way to make the most of a trip to your favourite park. Add an overnight hotel stay at either a resort hotel, or accommodation nearby and take advantage of offers like 2nd day tickets free and much more. You'll find all the big theme parks like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and LEGOLAND® Windsor have ticket and hotel packages, with various offers and discounts throughout the year. There are also organised day trips you can book on to places like The Making Of Harry Potter at Warner Bros. Studios London.
London Attractions
No city break to London is complete without visiting at least one of London's numerous attractions and historic sites. From ticking the Tower of London and crown jewels off your bucketlist, or getting papped at Madame Tussauds with your favourite celebrity, to enjoying a relaxing river cruise, or taking in your favourite west end show, there is so much going on. You can often buy day passes or multi-day passes to various attractions to help you save money, and they often include the open top bus tours too. Take a look at the Merlin Pass which offers annual multi attraction tickets like Sea Life London Aquarium and Shrek's World.
Attractions Abroad
While many people choose to enjoy a lazy holiday by the pool, if you're one of these people who needs to be up and about and doing things, there are plenty of attraction holidays abroad to visit and enjoy.
France
One of the most popular (if not THE most popular) attractions in France is undoubtedly Disneyland® Paris. Located to the west of Paris, Disneyland is an epic short break escape, whether you love all things Disney® or not. Book a flight or Eurostar package with hotel accommodation and tickets for (often) the best prices.
Spain
Even though you'll find attractions like La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, or the Guggenheim in Bilbao, it's usually the theme parks and water parks that make the biggest splash with visitors to Spain from the UK. PortAventura World in Salou on the Spanish Costa Dorada and Siam Park Water Park in Tenerife are by far two of the most popular. You can often combine package holidays with attraction tickets when booking with companies like TUI Holidays or Jet2holidays, helping you save money.
USA
Heading Stateside and Florida is the big draw for British tourists, and more specifically the theme parks in Orlando. Here you've got Walt Disney World Resort Florida and Universal Orlando Resort Florida as the two biggest attractions, with a huge number of rides and experiences to enjoy. Looking to splash out? Why not experience the excitement at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge? Need to be more budget friendly and centrally located? Check out the best hotels on International Drive Orlando, our hand picked guide to our favourite hotels in the area.
Dubai
Popular as a beach destination and for it's numerous places to visit, Dubai has so much to see and do that a few days just isn't enough. You can enjoy some of the free bits and pieces like the Dubai Fountains in Downtown Dubai, or you can book into somewhere like The Atlantis Dubai which offers free water park access to Aquaventure.
Getting The Best Ticket Deals
If you're looking to get the best ticket deals, booking in advance is by far one of the best ways to save money, but there are other ways to save too, especially when you've got kids in tow!
Multi Day Passes
If you're planning to visit somewhere that is just too big to see it all in one day, then multi-day passes can be a great way to save. Whether that's having two days at a theme park like Alton Towers and staying in a resort hotel, or maximising a trip to London so you can see all your favourite bits, and enjoy a bit of sightseeing from a river cruise or open top bus tour, buying a pass can certainly save money.
Booking In Advance
Booking your tickets in advance is a great way to save too. Sometimes there are discount codes to take advantage of, other times it's just an early booking discount that can help you save money. Either way, you'll pay less in advance than you would at the gate on the day.
Booking A Package Break
Many theme parks have their own hotels or have partnerships with local hotels and accommodation. This means you can get a great deal if you stay overnight and spend two days at the resort, instead of just the one. Resort hotels like the Alton Towers Hotel or the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel are usually a bit more expensive because they are right within the grounds of the park, but more budget friendly hotels like Holiday Inn and Travelodge can be found within a few miles.
Promotional Packages
Ever noticed the promotion on your soap bottle, or that bar of chocolate? Sometimes the big attractions like Merlin Entertainments have promotional offers on packaging, like 2 for 1 savings and more to help you save on your next visit. Keep an eye out next time you visit Tesco or Asda.
