The Costa del Silencio is another of Tenerife's quieter resorts, making a holiday here a little more chilled than the likes of Las Americas and Los Cristianos. This area of the island features a little more rugged coastline with just a few beaches dotted about but still ideal for cooling off in the sun.
Getting To, From & Around Costa Del Silencio
The Costa de Silencio is about a 15-20 minute drive from Tenerife South airport but a hotel shuttle may take longer if stopping at other hotels along the way. There is no direct bus service from the airport to the area (you would have to take a bus into Los Cristianos and then another one back to Costa del Silencio).
Although the area is well contained with restaurants, bars and a few shops, it is one of the smaller resorts so you may want to see more of Tenerife. If so, there is the odd local bus service and several main attractions offer shuttles but hiring a car during your holiday is worth thinking about.
Things To Do In Costa Del Silencio
The Costa del Silencio is set amongst a rocky coastline, however there is still easy access to a couple of local beaches including the Playa Amarilla and Playa La Ballena. Connected to nearby Las Galletas, the Costa del Silencio enjoys a coastal walk to Puerto de Las Galletas where you can enjoy a couple of boat trips.
During the walk, make sure to take in a bite to eat along one of the many seafront restaurants. Or if you're feeling like you need a more strenuous exercise, walk east out of the town and walk up the Montana Amarilla for some impressive views of the local landscape.

As with most areas of Tenerife, the Costa del Silencio has a range of accommodation options. The local restaurants and supermarkets cater well for those on a self catering holiday in the Costa del Silencio.
