Getting To, From & Around Cala Millor

You'll need to fly into Palma airport, and the good news is there's loads of direct flights from across the UK, including Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow with airlines like easyJet, British Airways and Wizzair. Cala Millor is located on the far east coast of the island, about 70km away from Palma Airport, and there are various ways you can get around.

Airport Transfers

The journey from Palma airport to Cala Millor takes about an hour in the car or around 75-90 minutes using an airport transfer. This could be the best option for you if you're enjoying a 'fly and flop' holiday, heading straight to your hotel and taking advantage of the entertainment, restaurants and facilities on offer, or spending time in the town or on Cala Millor Beach. Package holidays to Cala Millor with certain tour operators like TUI and Jet2holidays will usually include the airport transfer too.

Public Transport

There are direct bus services from Palma city centre to Cala Millor, however, they aren't too frequent and can take around 1 hour 40 mins, or sometimes require two buses. If you've got plenty of time and are saving money, this is possible, however, you might be better exploring in other ways.

Car Hire

Being on the east of the island there are some great spots to explore like hidden beaches and stunning scenery. If you fancy a day out, it's definitely worth hiring a car and taking a little drive to find some of these hidden gems. You can pick up a hire car from the airport when you arrive or your hotel staff or holiday rep can help you book something more local if you only need it for a day or two.

Things To Do In Cala Millor

Cala Millor Beach

Cala Millor is situated on the beach and is perfect if you want to combine days by the pool with some time on the soft white sand. The beach and sea here are beautiful with a number of beachside restaurants dotted along the promenade, as well as water sports like jet skiing and snorkelling. Cala Millor Beach is actually a Blue Flag beach so you know that you'll be enjoying a great day out in the sun.

Exercise

If you're someone who enjoys a bit of outdoor exercise, head to Via Verda (The Green Way), which is a walking and cycling track and runs between Manacor and Arta. This old railway line track is a lovely way to see the local countryside and towns of Son Servera and Son Carrio. Closer to home the hike up to Castell de la Punta de n'Amer, allows you to get out and try a coastal trek.

Boat Trips & Excursions

Being in the Med, you'll definitely want to take a boat trip out. There are plenty of options that can be booked online in advance or in Cala Millor, either at your hotel with a rep, or at one of the shops that sells excursion tickets. Try a glass bottom boat trip to enjoy the views under the water without getting wet, and who knows, you may even see a dolphin or two.
