Popular Holiday Types In Majorca
Family Holidays
If you're on a family holiday, you'll want to make sure your hotel is super family friendly, with kids' clubs, a children's pool and even a mini splash park with slides. Failing that, you want to make sure that there's plenty going on in the local area, like easy access to Aqualand El Arenal water park, for example. Take a look at hotels like Holiday Village Majorca in Cala Millor, and the Zafiro Palace Alcudia, near Port d'Alcudia which are resorts and hotels aimed at families.
Adults Only
For a quiet, adults only holiday, head to the far north or east resorts like the Grupotel Molins in Cala San Vicente, a beautiful location with dramatic scenery and the peace and quiet you're after for a relaxing holiday. Five-star, luxury hotels are another great option with stunning places like the adults only El Llorenc Parc de la Mer in Palma city centre offering a grown up stay in the city.
All Inclusive
Don't want to have to worry about money while you're away? Book an all inclusive hotel like the TUI BLUE Grupotel Mallorca Mar in Cala Bona, which has a range of dining and drinking options, evening entertainment, kids' club, and is right on the beachfront.
Sunny City Breaks
If you've only got a few days and fancy a bit of sunshine, Palma de Mallorca can be the ideal sunny city and beach break destination. Book a boutique hotel in the city or around the marina with a pool, and you can enjoy history, culture, great food, great bars and sunshine all rolled into one.
Clubbing & Party Holidays
For a party holiday, that's easy. In Majorca, best resort for clubbing is Magaluf. We've been flocking to this busy resort in Majorca for decades to enjoy live DJs, themed parties and plenty of nightlife, while soaking up the sun during the day.
Villa Holidays
One of the best resorts in Majorca for a villa holiday is Pollensa. Hidden away up in the north, you'll find a big range of villa accommodation with private pools, gardens and much more, perfect for a large family holiday.
Things To Do In Majorca
Majorca is such a great holiday destination with as much or as little as you'd like to do on offer. Here are a couple of our favourites:
Palma City
A day trip in the city can be a super fun day out, whether that's to admire the luxury yachts in the marina, grab a bite to eat at a Spanish tapas bar or one of the many restaurants, or wander the old town to pick up a few souvenirs.
The Beaches
Like the other Balearic Islands, Majorca has some truly fabulous beaches, in fact there are 20 Blue Flag beaches here. The sandy beach at Can Pere Antoni is the closest beach to Palma city centre, while other popular ones close to the airport include Playa de Palma and Playa S'Arenal. Dotted all around the coast are some stunning cove beaches, with golden soft sand, just waiting to be discovered by hiring a car and exploring. Want an Instagram-worthy beach snap? Head to Platja Es Trenc or Cala Lombards in the south of the island, while on th east coast, Sa Coma, Cala Millor and Cala d'Or offer some great options too.
Watersports
So many great beaches, means so many great water sports to try out. Grab your snorkel and dive into the crystal clear waters of your nearest sandy beach to discover a whole world of marine life underwater. Or why not jump in a kayak or go jet skiing around the coast for an even bigger thrill?! Boat trips are another wonderful option to spend the day out at sea in the sunshine. You might even spot a dolphin or two!
Theme Parks & Water Parks
Majorca is home to some great theme parks and water parks. Aqualand water park in El Arenal is a very popular spot in the summer months, and if you're staying up in the northern resorts, head to Hidropark Alcudia for the day and throw yourself down a waterslide or two. In fact one of the Majorca best resorts for families is Alcudia. If you prefer to stay dry, why not spend a day at the ever popular Jungle Parc in Santa Ponsa, or Kathmandu Park in Magaluf.
