Flights to the Dominican Republic - Our Guide

Whether you're looking for an all inclusive package, or separate accommodation, you'll still need to book your flights to the Dominican Republic. From the UK, you'll fly into Punta Cana (airport code PUJ) which is over on the far east of the island. It's Punta Cana where you'll find many of the resorts and hotels suited to holidaymakers, but there are also a couple of fantastic hotels on the south coast in the La Romana area.

Hand Baggage Only Fares

If you don't need to take loads with you, hand baggage only fares to the Dominican Republic are possible. The likes of British Airways offer their lowest fares with just hand luggage. You can pay to choose your seat or can be allocated automatically when you check in. Economy basic fares start from as little as £350 per person each way.

With TUI, the cheapest flights include very little. Although complimentary meals and drinks are included, your main check-in luggage is not included and costs £35 per person each for a 20kg piece of luggage, otherwise one piece of 10kg hand luggage is included. Similar to BA, your seat selection is not included as standard. This costs from £76pp, so for a family of four, this can be over £300 extra on top. It's worth factoring this in when you are checking prices.

Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), Dominican Republic

Punta Cana airport lies in the heart of the region, making it relatively quick and easy to travel to your hotel, wherever you might be staying along the coast. The airport is home to a range of services and facilities like an international food court, duty free shopping and a wheelchair service for disabled, elderly and less abled travellers.
