Hotels In Marbella

A 45 minute drive south of Malaga airport and you'll reach Marbella, often seen as one of the more upmarket resorts along the Costa del Sol. In fact you might feel that this marina town exudes luxury, with a range of five star hotels like the luxurious Hotel Don Pepe A Gran Melia Hotel, or the Puente Romano Beach Resort, both of which sit on the beachfront. However, there are plenty of budget friendly options too, ranging from self catering apartments, to affordable 3 and 4-star hotels.

Many people choose to stay in Puerto Banus rather than Marbella as there's much more nightlife and a much younger crowd. Places like the Golden Mile which runs from Marbella to Puerto Banus has plenty of bars and clubs staying open well into the night, and well worth a look for accommodation in the area.

Some of the best accommodation are the hotels along the beachfront of Playa de Rio Real and Playa de la Fontanilla, but go a couple of roads back and you'll find cheaper hotels in Marbella. An option could also be staying in Marbella Old Town which has more private apartments and aparthotel style accommodation.

Torremolinos

Hotels In Torremolinos

Torremolinos is one of the most popular holiday resorts along the Costa del Sol, partly because of its location. This Spanish beach town is just a 15 minute drive from Malaga airport, making it easy to escape to the sun without long airport transfers, and there's also a direct train service from Malaga airport to Torremolinos train station in Plaza de la Nogalera in the city centre.

Many holidaymakers will choose to stay by the beach, at hotels like the Hotel Perla Del Sur, Melia Costa Del Sol and the Sol Torremolinos Don Pedro, all of which are steps from the beach and within easy reach of local bars, shops and restaurants. Staying a little more in the city might be cheaper and well worth looking at if you want to save money. Places like the Marconfort Griego and the Aluasoul Costa Malaga are popular options. You'll also be closer to Aqualand Torremolinos a fantastic fun-filled water park, great for families, couples and groups of friends, which is just across the other side of the motorway.

Search for Costa del Sol hotels, and you'll no doubt be presented with various rooms in Benalmadena. This bustling town is home to the fantastic Puerto Marina, filled with luxury yachts and surrounded by various shops, bars and restaurants along the waterfront, perfect for a wander in the morning, or grabbing a bite to eat at lunchtime.

There's a great mix of accommodation here, ranging from adults only hotels with a spa or sea views, like the TUI BLUE Riviera and Hotel Alay, to the more family friendly options like Holiday World Polynesia Hotel and the Globales Los Patos Park, both of which have a family room option.

Malaga

Why not combine a city and beach break, or perhaps you don't like long airport transfers? In that case, why not try a short break in Malaga. The city centre and Old Town is the beating heart of the city, and where you'll find plenty of shops, bars and attractions like the Picasso Museum, Malaga Cathedral and Parque de Malaga. Here you'll find plenty of different accommodation options like the AC Hotel Malaga Palacio, a gorgeous hotel with rooftop pool and terrace, or the 5-star Gran Hotel Miramar, one of The Leading Hotels Of The World hotels, and which is within walking distance of the beach of Playa la Malagueta.

Aparthotels and B&Bs are what you'll generally find in the city centre, along with privately rented apartments that you'd be able to find on the likes of Airbnb and Booking.com. It's often worth booking your flight and hotel as part of a package that's protected by the ATOL and ABTA scheme, however, if you do choose to book your travel and accommodation separately, e.g. a Ryanair flight to Spain and an Airbnb apartment, always take out comprehensive travel insurance for your trip.
