A Guide To Last Minute Turkey
DISCOVER TURKEY
With so many fantastic resorts and hotels on offer, last minute holidays to Turkey are a great option, especially in April and October. Hotels are either starting the season, or winding down and are keen to fill their rooms, plus there are flights from across the UK to Dalaman, Antalya and Bodrum airports. The temperature is usually warmer than the UK and you'll often find there are more hours of sun each day than Blighty!
Summer is the big season for Turkey. The resorts are alive with people, but during the school holidays, the prices can sky rocket too. Leaving it for the last minute during the summer, isn't usually the best way to go, because the best hotels will get booked up quickly, and flights will get very busy. But fear not, many companies now offer a low deposit option when booking in advance, allowing you to pay off the full balance monthly.
All Inclusive
With sprawling beachfront resorts offering multiple restaurant options, Turkey is a great place for all inclusive. If you're looking for a holiday but a strict on your budget, you might find that the best late deals for you are all inclusive packages, which include flights, accommodation, food and drink, as well as airport transfers with some tour operators like TUI and Jet2holidays. This means you can jet off at the last minute without having to worry about spending more money while you're away.
Popular Last Minute Resorts & Hotels In Turkey
There are four main holiday areas in Turkey, each offering something a little unique, and each ranging from plenty going on, to quiet villas in countryside locations.
Antalya
The area of Antalya is one of the most popular places to stay. Although the main town has lots to see and do, the hotels and resorts are generally based outside of the city, in areas like Belek, Kemer and Lara Beach. Lara Beach is one of those places you can do as much or as little as you like, and it's really popular because it's close to the airport and there are some huge all inclusive resorts you could get lost in. The hotels along this stretch of beach are pretty big, with endless restaurants, activities, entertainment and some even have their own water park or waterslides. Antalya is popular for a last minute family holiday.
Bodrum
Bodrum is a very pretty part of Turkiye. It's here you'll find a mix of city life, and quieter towns and villages up and down the coast. Many hotels here have a small and friendly feel, which you might prefer.
Dalaman
Dalaman serves resorts like Fethiye, Sarigerme and Olu Deniz which have a range of hotels, from adults only to spacious family friendly resorts with swim up pools. You might have seen the gorgeous images and videos from Olu Deniz, with soft sandy beaches, lush forests behind, and the odd paraglider landing on the beach! You'll find a mix of self catering, bed and breakfast, half board and all inclusive options here.
Izmir
Although you'll find fewer flights to Izmir, it's still a great destination to look at for a late escape. Many choose Izmir for heading to Kusadasi, a thriving beach town with lots of history, like Kusadasi Castle and the ancient city of Ephesus.
Popular Last Minunte Holiday Brands & Offers
A couple of the most popular last minute holiday brands include TUI, which have a great selection of late deals to Turkey, and Jet2 Turkey holidays are worth looking at too. Both use their own flights, and would rather those seats get filled, even at a discount. Other tour operators like Love Holidays and On The Beach work with various airlines, including Ryanair, so they might not have such big discounts.
7 nights and 14 nights are the most popular durations, but be flexible and you might be able to grab a bargain for staying a one or two nights less. You might also find that staying for 2 weeks instead of 1 week might not cost that much more either.
More Deals & Discounts
While grabbing a last minute deals to Turkey might save you a bit of money, you might also be able to get even more discounts with things like free child places (regularly available at Turkish holiday resorts) with companies like TUI and Jet2, or discount codes to bring down the total holiday price a little more. Being flexible is always a plus, so if you want to go to Turkey and don't mind where, you'll certainly have more options available to you, especially if you're planning on heading off in the next few days, or even tomorrow. That goes for both your destination, and your hotel.
