Getting There
By Public Transport
If arriving by public transport, the train can often be the easiest option. Birmingham International station is a short monorail ride away, and has connections into Birmingham City Centre and beyond. If you're coming in from the surrounding areas, the bus can be another convenient option.
By Car
There are various car parking options at the airport, ranging from budget friendly long stay car parks on the other side of the airfield, to valet parking and premium set down right outside the terminal. Book in advance for the best prices and to ensure there's a space reserved for you. There's also a drop off section if a family member or friend is giving you a lift.
In The Terminal
From Boots and Accessorize, to World Duty Free and WHSmith, there are plenty of shops here to make sure you're all stocked up on snacks, suncream and sunglasses. For food and drink, you'll find cafes, restaurants and bars are here to calm those hunger pangs before the flight. Grab a coffee at Costa or SOHO Coffee Co, a cheeky drink at the Wetherspoon or All Bar One, or enjoy some heart grub at places like Burger King and Giraffe.

If you like to enjoy the calm and tranquility of an airport lounge, there are 4 here (plus the Emirates business class lounge). Book ahead for the best deals (it usually costs more when you buy it at the airport), and sip on complimentary drinks while you while away the time.
Travelling With Kids
Perhaps one of the most stressful experiences for families, it's always good to know you've got the kids entertained and sorted when you're travelling. Pushchairs and baby changing facilities are available at the airport, and you can even download the airport's children's travel booklet, with all sorts of activities including eye-spy and wordsearches. There's also a Sky Zone area in the departures lounge near gate 55 to help keep the kids busy too.

With easy access to Birmingham International train station and the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), there are loads of hotels around the airport, perfect if you have an early morning flight and want to be able to just walk across the terminal, or you want to get your holiday started as early as possible.
Novotel
The 4-star Novotel Birmingham Airport is the closest hotel to the airport terminal. A quick 2 minute walk across the road from the airport with limited overnight parking available, this is by far the most convenient way to stay before you travel.
Ibis Hotel
A more budget friendly option isn't too far away, in fact, across the other side of the car park is the Ibis Birmingham Airport - NEC hotel. This low-cost hotel offers free WiFi, clean and comfortable rooms and a 24 hour reception desk, so no matter what time you're checking-in or out, there's someone to help.
Hilton Birmingham Metropole
If you'd like more than just a room from your airport hotel, take a look at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. This 4-star hotel sits on the other side of Pendigo Lake within walking distance from the NEC. Although there isn't a shuttle bus to the airport, it's a 12 minute walk to Birmingham International station where you can jump on the monorail to the airport. Here you'll find three restaurants, a health club with 24 hour fitness centre, as well as a range of room types, including interconnected rooms, perfect for families.
