Airlines & Tour Operators

There are direct flights from across the UK to Paphos, even from regional airports like Leeds, East Midlands, Newcastle and Bristol. Frequency can vary during the summer vs the winter, as many routes will stop or have reduced flights between October and April time. All the big airlines offer flights to Paphos including easyJet, TUI, Ryanair and Jet2.com.

There are plenty of tour operators offering package holidays to Paphos. Some of the big ones include Jet2holidays, easyJet Holidays, TUI and loveholidays. It's worth bearing in mind that flights and all inclusive accommodation are standard, but beyond that what's included can vary. With TUI and Jet2, you'll generally find that along with your flights and hotel, your baggage and shared airport transfers are also included, while others like On The Beach and loveholidays won't have this as part of the initial price you see, so you'll need to add that on.

Where To Stay In Paphos

Although there are hotels and resorts dotted all along the coast of Paphos, there are a couple of areas in particular you might want to take a look at.

Kato

Kato is one of the most popular areas of Paphos. Located in the south of the city, you find a real mix of Cypriot history and culture, and lively bars and restaurants. Ayiou Antoniou is the streetwhere you'll find the busy nightlife. Take a look at holidays to Kato if you love lots going on.

Chloraka

Located a little up the coast and to the west of Paphos is Chloraka. Popular with a range of holidaymakers, accommodation here ranges from cheap self catering apartments a little more inland, to luxury 5-star resorts. Most of the beachfront hotels here offer an all inclusive option.

Coral Bay

Heading further up the coast still, you'll reach Coral Bay, about a 40 minute taxi ride from Paphos airport. It's a bit quieter up here with more self contained all inclusive resorts, but you can still head out to the local supermarket or souvenir shops to get the holiday essentials.

Aphrodite Hills

A 20 minute drive south of the airport is Aphrodite Hills. If it's a much more relaxed and out of the way getaway, then this could be right up your street. The Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort is a sprawling complex with both a main hotel complex and villas. There are also two golf courses in the area, Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills Golf Course, making it ideal for a golf holiday in the sun.

For Foodies

Cypriot cuisine is a delightful fusion of Greek, Turkish, and Middle Eastern flavours, and Paphos is the perfect place to indulge in local delicacies. Head to one of the many tavernas to savour dishes like moussaka, souvlaki, and halloumi cheese. Don’t miss the opportunity to try fresh seafood, particularly at the harbour area, where you can enjoy a meal with a view of the picturesque marina.

History

For history buffs, start your journey at the Paphos Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that boasts an impressive collection of Roman villas, mosaics, and ruins. The House of Dionysos, with its intricate floor mosaics depicting scenes from Greek mythology, is a highlight not to be missed. Nearby, the Tombs of the Kings is another must-see, featuring elaborate underground tombs dating back to the 4th century BC.

Adventures

For adventure seekers, the Akamas Peninsula offers a rugged and unspoilt natural landscape ideal for hiking, cycling, and wildlife spotting. The Aphrodite and Adonis trails provide breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the chance to explore diverse flora and fauna. Additionally, the crystal-clear waters around Paphos are perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving, with numerous dive sites, including underwater caves and ancient shipwrecks.

For Families

Paphos is also a great destination for families, with numerous activities to keep children entertained. The Paphos Zoo, located just outside the town, is home to a wide range of animals and offers daily shows featuring parrots and owls. The Aphrodite Waterpark, with its thrilling slides and lazy river, is another fantastic option for a fun-filled day out.

Family Friendly Holidays

Cyprus is such a family friendly island and around the Paphos region, you've also got some great family friendly hotels like the Avanti Holiday Village, Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel and the Olympic Lagoon Resort, and some even have waterslides and splash parks. You can also get free child place deals at selected hotels, plus because they are so family friendly, you can also book a one bedroom apartment or family suite, giving you extra space. For some real fun in the sun, try the Aquamare Beach Hotel which you can book with tickets to Aphrodite Waterpark.

Adults Only

There are some fantastic adults only all inclusive resorts around Paphos, including the TUI BLUE Pioneer Beach, Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach and Louis Ivi Mare. All of which are are very well rated on TripAdvisor.

Last Minute Holidays

If you're looking for a last minute escape, Paphos could be a great option. You've got plenty of choice here, plus most hotels aren't too far from the airport, so you can be by the pool in no time. As always, be flexible to get the best late deals to Cyprus.

Party Holidays

While you might know Ayia Napa as the party capital of the island, Kato is another lively part of the island. Being close to Paphos, you've got both holidaymakers and locals that come here, and it's a favourite if you hate long airport transfers. For the nightclubs and bars, head to Ayiou Antoniou.
